The Simpsons home arcade unit Arcade1Up announced preorder summer bonus game 2 players

Arcade1Up has announced a The Simpsons home arcade machine, reviving the 1991 Konami arcade game in a more affordable cabinet for its 30th anniversary. Preorders for the unit will begin July 15, and around that same time, Arcade1Up will announce a second, “bonus” game that will also be included in the unit.

This The Simpsons home arcade cabinet was designed by Arcade1Up to match the original arcade unit closely, with the same cabinet structure and much of the same art placement. That also means that four-player play is intact with Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa, and remote play via Wi-Fi will be an option as well. And of course, this will be a no-coins-required experience, which is great since the original game could hoover up your quarters all day long.

In terms of product overview, the total package weighs 104 pounds (remember to lift with your knees, not your back), and the product specs include a lit marquee, matching riser, exclusive stool, 18″ x 24″ tin sign, and clear deck protector. Price has not been specified, but Arcade1Up typically prices cabinets like these at a few hundred dollars at minimum — The Simpsons will likely be no different.

If you love Arcade1Up and/or home arcade cabinets, then check back over the next few days — there are several more exciting announcements where this one came from. In the meantime, check out this incredible fan-made Final Fantasy VI arcade cabinet.
