Sonic movie theme song music video wiz khalifa

When the original trailer for the Sonic movie launched, many questioned the choice of Gangsta’s Paradise as background music. Of course, that was just one of many things people questioned. The Blue Blur soon got a makeover, and the second trailer received much more positive feedback. With the theatrical debut less than a month away, a much more official theme song has been unveiled. The new track (complete with a music video) is called Speed Me Up. It was provided by Wiz Khalifa, featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child. You can check it out by clicking below!

Wiz Khalifa’s theme song and music video

The Sonic movie

Wiz Khalifa’s music video features a combination of footage from the Sonic movie and retro-looking video game-style versions of the artists running through Sonic’s world. Popular Sonic iconography is everywhere, including references to bosses, bonus stages, and more. It doesn’t quite have the energy I would expect from a Sonic theme song, but it’s a much better fit than Gangsta’s Paradise.

The Sonic movie officially hits theaters on Valentine’s Day, February 14. It was originally scheduled to release back in November, but Paramount Pictures opted for a delay after the initial trailer was met with near-universal criticism. Perhaps the finished project will fare a little better?
