Platinum Games has made their interest in re-releasing Wii U cult classic The Wonderful 101 for years. The acclaimed video game company finally took the first steps toward making that dream a reality by launching a Kickstarter just yesterday to help fund the release of The Wonderful 101: Remastered on Nintendo Switch. In barely 24 hours, the campaign managed to breeze through initial funding and easily reach stretch goals that would bring the remaster to Steam and PS4, as well. Now, the campaign is starting to blaze through stretch goals that promise exciting new content for the game, the first of which being a $1 million goal to bring a Time Attack mode to the game.
Sitting at $1,125,949 as of writing, the Kickstarter for The Wonderful 101: Remastered easily cleared the lofty $1 million goal overnight, meaning Time Attack is officially coming to the game. Described as “A speedrunner’s dream” on the official campaign page, this marks the first confirmed piece of new content coming to the remastered release. The next goal for the fundraising campaign is “Luka’s First Mission”, a 2D side-scrolling adventure game tie-in that will be unlocked at $1.5 million. The next stretch goal after that is a Remixed Soundtrack featuring a secret surprise guest contributor that will unlock at $1.75 million.
