Times are tough. Social distancing will continue to be the norm for the next, like, year. Some are inevitably beginning to feel loneliness. What if you could solve that problem forever with one simple furniture purchase? Via Kotaku, a Ditto sofa begins shipping in Japan later this month for 25,990 yen ($249.59) that could accomplish exactly that, if you live in Japan, anyway. Since Ditto can transform into anything, seeing him in sofa form doesn’t feel out of the ordinary at all. It’s one of the more normal pieces of Pokémon merchandise in existence. And even better, the Ditto cover can be removed and tossed into the washing machine.
Beyond the Ditto sofa, it’s almost difficult to quantify all the different adorable and/or outlandish Pokémon merchandise that exists, especially in Japan. Last month we covered a Metapod cushion that is basically a sleeping bag, and then there’s Pokémon Air, a fat Pikachu you can ride around on. There’s also the Pikachu engagement ring with ears that are especially erect, as well as lingerie and pajamas. Whatever kind of Pokémon merchandise you’re looking for, it probably already exists in one form or another. Getting it out of Japan and into your hands domestically is the challenge.
