It only took 25 years, but Seiken Densetsu 3 was finally localized this year. Released as Trials of Mana in the Collection of Mana triple pack that came out for Nintendo Switch just this summer, the long-awaited JRPG hidden gem is already getting a fancy HD remake to celebrate its 25th anniversary. A new Trials of Mana is arriving next year with completely revamped visuals, gameplay, and more, and now we get an extended look at two of the main selectable characters from the game, Angela and Duran.
In Trials of Mana, Duran is a young swordsman from the kingdom of Valsena who hails from a family of esteemed swordmasters. When he’s finally passed down the legendary sword that his father used, he sets out on adventure to prove his worth to the family.
We also get a look at Angela, a princess from Altena. She grew up with no father, always living in the shadow of her mother as the queen prioritized her royal duties over Angela. Cast out from the kingdom, Angela is forced to get a grasp on her latent magical abilities and learn to survive on her own for the first time ever.
We learned earlier this year from an old unearthed interview that a romance was originally planned between these heroes.
Trials of Mana is set to launch on April 24, 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam.
