While there is quite a sizeable number of racing games on Switch, the driving simulation genre is still very small. Now, it’s about to get just a little bigger thanks to the announcement that Sodesco’s Truck Driver will be coming to the hybrid system. Some brief gameplay clips were recently revealed in an announcement trailer:

Truck Driver for Nintendo Switch is going to feature all of the content that is available in other versions of the game. In addition to that, there will be Switch-exclusive features: motion controls, HD rumble, and horizontal controls (for tabletop mode).

The game is currently undergoing extra work that will provide enhancements to the existing PS4 and Xbox One versions, including things like improved frame rates, better visuals, and more advanced AI. Sodesco has confirmed that these enhancements will also be coming to the Switch version.

Sodesco has not mentioned exactly when the Switch version of Truck Driver is going to release. But, here’s hoping it happens sometime this year.

Here’s a game description for Truck Driver:

When you inherit a truck from your father, you take a chance and move to a new city. Here, it’s up to you to make a name for yourself and earn the respect of the local community. Drive through a seamless open world, work with all kinds of people ranging from a constructor to a lumberjack and honor your father by making it as a Truck Driver!
