Now that Zero Suit Samus is officially her own character, Sakurai has taken to today’s official Smash Bros. update to really hammer home this message. In today’s update, power suit Samus Aran and her counterpart Zero Suit Samus square off on the Wii U’s Boxing Ring stage.
\”Pic of the day. Samus and Zero Suit Samus!! How will she match up with her new jet boots?\”
It looks like Zero Suit Samus\’ new jet boots will not only make her even more of a menace in battle, but she\’ll also be able to float with them. That\’ll be a utility you can\’t refuse, especially against Samus in her power suit, who looks like she’s ready to let loose a fiery forward-A attack.
Hopefully Zero Suit Samus will have the jet boots mastered by the time Super Smash Bros. for 3DS releases this summer. This is her first time wearing these heels, and for the second time she is getting a new piece of equipment she’s never had before. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the developers also graced her with a whip function for her stun pistol. In the Metroid games, especially Metroid: Zero Mission (the one game Zero Suit Samus is actually usable), she has neither the whip function nor these jet boots.
The jet boots, however, could simply be a modification or variation of power suit Samus\’ Hi Jump Boots or something to that effect. Either way, it looks like she’s packing a lot more power and mobility this time around. What are your thoughts on the enhancements made to Zero Suit Samus and how do you think she\’ll stack up against the rest of the roster? Sound off in the comments!
