Ultra Foodmess

Ultra Foodmess is the latest in a very long line of local multiplayer titles gracing the Switch eShop. We now know that it’s set to come out on August 6 – that’s just over a week away. With a launch price of just $4, the game offers a suspicious amount of local multiplayer content, including eleven different modes and plenty of unlockable characters. Nothing about it looks to reinvent the wheel, but the game looks like a solid enough way to have a good time pushing your friends into spinning spikes and death traps. Take a look at the game in action below.

Most of what’s on display in the trailer seems to revolve around dodging stuff such as rotating cutlery or pushy veggies, but a few modes in Ultra Foodmess look quite unique. At least one invokes top-down shooting elements (like a less intense version of Battlesloth), and another looked like a race to paint as much of the map as possible a specific color (sound familiar?). At $4 and with eleven modes, if Ultra Foodmess controls well, it’ll probably be a safe bet for any local multiplayer fanatic.
