Viewtiful Joe

Following rumors that Capcom plans to reveal two new titles at Jump Festa 2020 next month, it’s time to start wondering what that could possibly mean for Switch owners, if anything. One definite possibility is a remaster of an older title–Capcom has already shown their willingness to do as much with multiple Mega Man collections, Resident Evil games, Okami, and Devil May Cry. Even with so many remasters already built up, there are still loads of other games sitting deep in Capcom’s catalog just waiting for another moment in the spotlight. If you could pick the next Capcom Switch remaster, what would you go with?

I would love to see the glorious return of the first two Viewtiful Joe games. The eye-popping color palette would benefit a ton from an HD upgrade. The superpowered beat ’em ups are a ton of fun, but they’re easy to play in short bursts or in extended runs for high scores. It’s a shame that we’ve seen so little from the franchise since the GameCube days, and the Switch is as good a time as any to rectify that.

What title would you dig out of Capcom’s library for a new lease on life on Switch? Sound off with your pick in the comments.
