Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Gasket Games have announced a May 27, 2021 release date for strategic RPG Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This new comes with a release date reveal trailer that offers an actual look at the game in action, as last year’s announcement trailer gave us very little to go on.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground will involve fast-paced, turn-based tactical battles, and you can choose one of three customizable armies to control: “the eternal Stormcasts, the ghoulish Nighthaunt and the rotting Maggotkin.” There is a roguelike single-player campaign and online PvP, and combat is card-based. “With each new battle, you’ll collect new cards granting new units, skills, weapons, and gear to strengthen your armies and let you define your own style of conquest,” PR explains. The Maggotkin of Nurgle in particular have been freshly revealed today. They corrupt whatever they touch, “creating hazardous zones on the battlefield that they can harvest to reap a terrible reckoning on their enemies.”
Ahead of the May 27 release date, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is available to preorder on all platforms except Switch at present. However, it likely won’t be too long before it becomes available to preorder on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
