Developer Gasket Games and publisher Focus Home Interactive today announced Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for release in 2021. Its announcement trailer is pretty epic to watch but conveys virtually nothing about the gameplay. Fortunately, there are at least a few more details where that came from.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is a strategic RPG and the first strategy game adaptation of the dark fantasy universe of Age of Sigmar. You build a customizable force to take into turn-based strategic battles, and there are numerous unit types to collect and upgrade, in addition to equipment and skills to accumulate. You will be able to play solo or online one on one as well.
All in all, it sounds pretty by the numbers so far, so hopefully we’ll get a better idea of what makes the game unique as time goes on.
Notably, a quick peek at the Gasket Games website indicates Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is the studio’s first announced title, with a second unannounced project in prototype. Here’s to hoping Focus Home Interactive’s trust in the developer is well placed and that Warhammer fans receive a great new game next year on Nintendo Switch and other consoles.
