nintendo treehouse livestream paper mario wayforward

Who’s ready for some Nintendo news? While it may not be a full-fledged Nintendo Direct, the Treehouse team will be livestreaming today, and their focus is two-fold. First, we’ll be getting an extensive look at Paper Mario: The Origami King, which drops next week. Additionally, Nintendo will be teaming up with indie developer WayForward Technologies for a reveal. We’re not sure what to expect from them, but it sounds like it’ll be an existing third-party property that they’ve never handled before.

If you plan to catch all this exciting Paper Mario and WayForward news live, you can join us during the event! It all kicks off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific / 1:oo p.m. Eastern. That’s 6:00 p.m. for our readers in the UK. Tune in then by clicking the embedded livestream below!

Paper Mario and WayForward

Despite the fact that Paper Mario: The Origami King launches in a week, we’ve seen relatively little. Today’s stream should give us a good look at the world, and hopefully the combat. No one’s quite sure what to expect from WayForward. Early on, many speculated they could be put in charge of a Nintendo title like Metroid or Wario Land, but Nintendo has since confirmed it will be a third-party property. They typically focus on action-platformers, but they’ve dabbled in other genres as well. It could be anything, really. Tune in to Nintendo Treehouse later today to find out!
