Indie World Showcase Nintendo

Gamescom is set to kick off tomorrow, but first, Nintendo has news to drop. The popular publisher recently announce an Indie World Showcase set for today. Instead of a traditional Nintendo Direct, this event will focus on smaller games from smaller teams. The whole show will last about 20 minutes. That’s not super long, but it’s plenty of time to highlight some great indie games. We’ve even heard rumors that we’ll see something that was previously Microsoft-exclusive. What could it be?

Indie World Showcase

We’ll find out soon! The show kicks off at 6:00 a.m. Pacific / 9:00 a.m. Eastern. You can watch it all live right here by clicking below. We’ll be providing coverage of any shocking or exciting announcements. Stay tuned to Nintendo Enthusiast for all your Nintendo games coverage!

What to expect

Unfortunately, Nintendo’s description of the Indie World Showcase offers few details. Still, that just gives it a chance to surprise us. We’ll certainly see lots of trailers, and we’ll probably see some release dates for previously revealed games. There’s also that tantalizing rumor that a Microsoft-first game is on the way to Switch. Personally, I’m hoping it’s Ori and the Blind Forest. It’s a beloved game, and it just makes sense. The sequel is set to launch next February, so now’s a great time to get the original to Switch.
