Pokémon 25 Post Malone digital concert Pokémon 25th anniversary

Today’s the day! The Pokémon franchise is now 25 years old, and I feel incomprehensibly ancient. Back in the day, I had Pokémon Red, my best bud had Pokémon Blue, and we traded back forth (with a little extra help from Pokémon Yellow) until we both finally caught every last goshdang Pokémon. Thanks to someone’s cartridge left behind on a plane, I even obtained a Mew, and capturing the original 151 is my greatest Pokémon accomplishment to this day. But it almost feels like a lifetime ago already, and generation upon generation has gotten to enjoy the franchise since. And today, in the most improbable of Pokémon 25th anniversary celebrations, Post Malone will be holding a virtual concert online at 7:00 p.m. ET. And you can watch it right here!

As we previously reported, plenty of festivities have led up to Pokémon Day and this Post Malone digital concert, including the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event last Saturday and Pokémon Sword and Shield players recently receiving a password for a special Pikachu that can learn Sing. However, much more significantly, yesterday saw the announcement of new remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as well as the stunning announcement of Pokémon Legends Arceus, an open-world prequel adventure set in Sinnoh. A lot of Pokémon fans are on top of the world right now for the 25th anniversary.

Let us know what you think of the Post Malone virtual concert after it begins at 7:00 p.m. ET! In the meantime, you can listen to Post Malone’s new cover of Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Only Wanna Be with You,” another completely random part of this Pokémon 25 celebration.
