a link to the past

The weekend is upon us at last, and for many of us, that means finally sinking our teeth into a game or two. What does that entail for you? Whether you are knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you’ve got planned.

I’m working on a handful of different games. Revisiting Donkey Kong Country last weekend lit a fire in me this weekend – I’m dipping in and out of all sorts of SNES classics, like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and Super Mario World. Shamefully, I’ve never progressed more than halfway through A Link to the Past, so I’m starting to chip away at it anew. It’ll be a while before I finally finish it, but for now, I’m happy with just making some tangible progress.

Outside of old SNES greats, I just finished up Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. I’m on a mission this summer to clear all of the old Assassin’s Creed games on my backlog – I’ve beaten the entire Ezio trilogy in the past couple of months, and now I’m moving onto Assassin’s Creed: Unity. We’ll see if it’s a bit better now than it was at release. I’ve also got Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order arriving any day now, and I’m quite keen to dive into those.

What are you working on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, are you still hopelessly glued to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Share what you have going on in the comments.
