Switch OS

The Switch OS leaves a bit to be desired. Recently updated to version 10.0, which added the ability to remap Joy-Con buttons, the operating system is still missing a few sought-for features like folders, an accurate playtime counter, or detailed, colorful themes. If you could add any feature to the system OS, what would it be?

I’d love to see a more robust playtime counter. It’s a simple feature, but it was a lot of fun on the 3DS and Wii U, where it accurately reported how many times and how long you had played each game in your library. That disappeared on Switch, where at any given time, you can only see your playtimes for some of your most recently-played title, rounded to the most recent five-hour benchmark.

Folders would also be pretty useful. My Switch library has grown a good deal over the past few years, and the option to sort games by genre, or to slap all of my favorite local multiplayer titles into one spot, would make menu navigation a dream.

If you could add any feature to the Switch OS, which would you choose? Would you like themes, a better playtime tracker, or something else? Folders, perhaps? Let us know what you’d like the most in the comments.
