Top 10 SNES Games Super Metroid

Nintendo got a lot of us excited yesterday when they revealed that WayForward, the devs behind the outstanding Shantae series, would be working to create a game within an established external franchise. Most of us hoped to see a Nintendo IP at first, but Nintendo quickly clarified that the company would be working with a third-party property instead. Nobody knew what to expect, but Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia probably wasn’t it. Some people might be excited, certainly, as Bakugan is a pretty significant series that many people have great memories of, but I’m sure most of us had something else in mind – especially when we all thought that a Nintendo franchise was on the table. What Nintendo series would you have liked to see WayForward work with?

I’d have liked to have seen a 2D Metroid title courtesy of the Shantae masters. It’s been a while since we saw a brand new sidescrolling Metroid title (though Samus Returns was a solid remake), and I think that WayForward is just about a perfect dev to tackle the series. Nintendo can’t seem to be bothered with it, anyway, so why not give someone else a shot?

What Nintendo franchise would you want to see from WayForward? Are you excited for Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia regardless? Let’s hear you down below.
