super mario odyssey

Three years in, the Switch library brings a lot to love. Titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildSuper Mario Odyssey, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are classics in the making. Other titles like Astral ChainSuper Mario Maker 2Splatoon 2Luigi’s Mansion 3, and many more offer solid, enjoyable experiences that greatly bolster the system library. Many of these titles enjoy large followings that will always be craving just a bit more, be it DLC or a full-blown sequel. If you could greenlight a sequel to any Switch title, which would you choose?

I’ve written about it at length before, but I’ve got to go with Super Mario Odyssey. It’s second only to Super Mario Sunshine as the best 3D Mario title, in my opinion, and it has so much room to grow. A sequel that takes full advantage of capture mechanics, hones the incredibly fluid movement, and amps up the challenge level would make for a legendary experience. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey made for one hell of a one-two punch in the Switch’s launch year. That magic can be tapped once more. If a sequel for each title came out in 2021 or 2022? It’d be unforgettable.

What Switch game do you think most needs a sequel? Why do you think so? Let us know in the comments.
