Little Triangle

The Switch is a haven for indie games, with plenty of greats like Celeste, Hollow Knight, and Dead Cells earning praise comparable to some of the Switch’s top AAA experiences. With the deluge of indies on the eShop, though, there are plenty of awesome games that slip through the cracks. What Switch indie game has surprised you the most? Have any of your impulse buys worked out like a charm?

I have to go with Little Triangle, a tight and challenging 2D platformer where a fantastic Duck Game-like multiplayer mode steals the show. In my review, I scored the game an 8 out of 10 and called its multiplayer deathmatches “relentlessly fast-paced, hopelessly addicting, and endlessly satisfying.” I was only expecting a decent platformer given how little I had heard about the game, but the precision platforming and incredibly fun multiplayer quickly proved the game to be much more than that. Little Triangle unfortunately never made much noise on the eShop, despite its high-quality single-player and engrossing multiplayer that my friends and I are still playing nearly three years later.

What Switch indie game surprised you the most? Was it a little-known title like Little Triangle, or something that had more publicity, but simply wasn’t that well-received? Sound off with your choice in the comments!
