Yoshi's Woolly World

The weekend is upon us at last, and for many of us, that means finally sinking our teeth into a game or two. What does that entail for you? Whether you are knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you’ve got planned.

I’ve been focused on chipping away at my backlog lately while filling in gaps from my collection with some of GameStop’s latest blowout sales. I’m looking into starting Yoshi’s Woolly World, one of my recent applications. I’m a sucker for a good Yoshi platformer. They’re relaxing, charming, and just an all-around good time.

Outside of that, I’ve been on an FPS binge lately. I just finished Resistance 3 and Call of Duty: WWII over the past few days. I really liked Resistance 3 because of the absurdly creative weaponry, and Call of Duty: WWII was just tight enough to be worth playing. It didn’t really do anything unique, but it was a quick romp through some major historical battles. Works for me.

I also want to give a shoutout to A Short Hike. If you grab the weekly freebies from the Epic Games Store, you’ve probably got this one in your library from a month or so back. It’s a quick, relaxing adventure where you explore an island, collecting feathers so that you can jump high enough to climb the central mountain. It was over in an hour, but it just might be the most memorable game I’ve played over the last week.

What are you working on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, are you still hopelessly glued to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Share what you have going on in the comments.
