animal crossing super mario maker 2 secret game style super mario bros. 2

The weekend is upon us at last, and for many of us, that means finally sinking our teeth into a game or two. What does that entail for you? Whether you are knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you’ve got planned.

I’ve been continuing my retro binge with some NES titles. Shamefully, I’ve never played the original Super Mario Bros. quartet of platformers on the NES. I’m rectifying that now. I just finished the original, and now I’m slowly getting a handle on Super Mario Bros. 2. Outside of NES fun, I’m chipping away at that last home loan in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, looking forward to playing some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with a buddy later, and I finally dove into Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate yesterday. That one has been quite interesting so far: it’s quite “modern” for an Assassin’s Creed game, and the carriages and gang war elements practically make Grand Theft Assassin’s Creed an appropriate title. It’s been a good time, and can hopefully keep me engaged to the end.

What are you working on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Dabbling in any Paper Mario: The Origami King? Does Animal Crossing: New Horizons still have your attention on a daily basis? Share what you have going on in the comments.
