Kirby's Adventure

The weekend is upon us at last, and for many of us, that means finally sinking our teeth into a game or two. What does that entail for you? Whether you are knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you’ve got planned.

I’m continuing some NES platforming with Kirby’s Adventure. In my experience, most platformers from the NES era don’t hold up super well today, but Nintendo’s outings are normally charming enough to charge through. That’s the case here. I’m also continuing with Super Mario Bros. 2 (the NES Switch Online app is as easy to browse as Netflix, after all), and outside of the NES, my Switch still gets some love during my daily Animal Crossing: New Horizons check-ins.

Most of my gaming time right now is occurring beyond the Switch, though. I spent a lot of the past two weeks gunning through Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which now stands as my second favorite game in the series. I did an unnatural amount of side content before finishing the game, completely immersed in Victorian London. After I finished the game, I tried a bit of both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Assassin’s Creed: Origins. For now, I’m going to stick with both, because each gets off to such an awesome start. We’ll see if I can keep up this juggling act for the many, many hours it’ll take to finish each, though.

What are you working on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, are you still hopelessly glued to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Share what you have going on in the comments.
