Does Super Mario 64 hold up in 2019?

The weekend is upon us at last, and for many of us, that means finally sinking our teeth into a game or two. What does that entail for you? Whether you are knee-deep in the latest release or cruising through your backlog, let’s hear what you’ve got planned.

It’s business as usual on my end. Following an obscenely busy two weeks of school, I’m chilling out with some Super Mario 3D All-Stars. I’m close to 120 stars in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 64, and I just reached the milestone in Super Mario Sunshine. Today, I’ve spent a good bit of time with Super Mario 64 and am currently sitting at 95 Power Stars in that one. I’m loving every game – this collection is an absolute godsend – but Super Mario Sunshine is still my favorite by a wide margin.

Outside of Nintendo, I am slowly chipping away at the beginning phases of Mafia II, but it’s slow going. In such busy times, I’m mostly focusing my gaming time on grabbing a few minutes here and there with my Switch, since it’s the most convenient console on the planet.

What are you working on this weekend? Are you playing a brand new game, are you still hopelessly glued to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or are you just doing some good old-fashioned backlogging? Share what you have going on in the comments.
