Where to find Strength and Defog in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl guide

During your adventure through the Sinnoh region, there will be moments where you need to take advantage of Hidden Moves (HMs). However, in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the developers at ILCA Inc have removed the need to teach your Pokémon team these moves, instead opting for summoning wild Pokémon using the Pokétch. Despite this, the HMs Strength and Defog require the player to go out of their way to find them, so this guide will show you where you need to go to find Strength and Defog in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

After you reach Hearthome City, your journey will require you to make your way through route 209. On this route is The Lost Tower, a building that allows you to capture the likes of Gastly and battle a variety of trainers. To get Strength in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you simply need to reach the top of The Lost Tower and speak to one of the old women. Doing so will unlock the Hidden Move in your Pokétch, but you will need to receive the sixth gym badge to take advantage of it.

Upon entering Pastoria City, the location of the fourth gym, you will want to enter the Great Marsh, which can be accessed at the top of the screen. The Great Marsh is where you partake in the Safari Game, a fun activity where you capture Pokémon without battling them. As soon as you enter the Safari area, simply speak to the Ace Trainer on the right to receive Defog.
