The Wii U has received a price drop. Check your calendar, this isn\’t April Fool’s. Nintendo will officially be dropping the price of its home console starting September 20th.

Gamers will be able to nab a Wii U console for just $299.99 USD in either the existing black deluxe model and the Wind Waker HD bundle, which also releases on September 20th. Both come with 32GB of flash memory and external hard drive capacity. The former option still comes with Nintendo Land. Unlike the regular deluxe console, the Wind Waker HD edition comes with gold Zelda etchings on the Gamepad and digital vouchers to download both the Hyrule Historia lore book and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD.

On the other hand, the white 8GB version of the Wii U seems to be all but faded from shelves as Nintendo seems to have no plans to continue to supply retailers with this version. This was the \”basic\” edition that was originally sold for $299.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD’s release date has been set to September 20th in North America and Octoboer 4th in Europe.
