Kirby Fighters 2 leaked late last night before a surprise announcement and shadowdrop today. With a modest $20 price tag, HAL is offering a colorful and cheap platform fighter with all of the traditional bells and whistles – you’ve got your standard battle mode with plenty of series-specific stages and items, .a tower-based story mode, and a bit more. Are you interested in grabbing the game, or will you sit this one out?

I’m not planning on grabbing Kirby Fighters 2 any time soon, but I have it in the back of my mind as a potential birthday gift for one of my little sisters who loves the series. I even think she enjoyed the original Kirby Fighters (which was a minigame in Kirby Triple Deluxe), so it’d probably make a solid gift. However, for me personally, my platform fighting needs are largely met by Super Smash Bros, Ultimate and a variety of indies like Towerfall. I don’t expect that I would get a lot of use out of Kirby Fighters 2 if I picked it up, so I’m planning on skipping this one for now.

Are you picking up Kirby Fighters 2? If so, what do you hope to get out of it? Let us know what your hopes for the game are in the comments!
