In a recent interview with Venture Beat, MachineGames executive director Jerk Gustafsson gave nothing but praise for Panic Button porting their game, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, to the Nintendo Switch.
I’m always impressed by the guys at Panic Button, that they can accomplish things like that. It’s a miracle. We’re pushing the engine pretty hard in this game. Of course we did that for New Colossus as well. These guys are magicians. It’s a great honor to be able to work with them. I’m very happy that we can get Youngblood on Switch.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood lets you take control of BJ Blazkowicz’s daughters in a full co-op adventure. Taking down Nazis becomes a family affair, and that’s just wholesome. This will be the third game in Bethesda’s Wolfenstein reboot series, but only the second on the Switch.
The Switch is getting more and more quality ports from Panic Button, helping them to become household names. They were also responsible for the excellent Doom port, as well as the Switch port for Rocket League and the upcoming Torchlight II. Despite rumors, the Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not being developed by Panic Button, but hopefully it will also turn out well.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood releases July 26 as a digital download. In the meantime, check out Panic Button’s Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to help catch yourself up on the plot, and get ready for Doom: Eternal later this year.
