Worms Rumble Switch

Worms Rumble launched on Windows and PlayStation consoles in December last year. Team17 has now confirmed, through a financial report, that Worms Rumble is heading to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X sometime in 2021. This was addressed by Team17 CEO Debbie Bestwick, who referenced the additional platform releases in a statement about the studio’s performance. The report also reveals that Team17 made a record £26.2m in profit before tax, up 36% from the previous year.

Unlike previous entries in the series, Worms Rumble takes inspiration from a variety of battle royale games. The game supports up to 32 players, offers a variety of different game modes, and allows you to customize your character. Previous versions of the game also support cross-play, so chances are the Switch version will as well. Worms Rumble already has a decent player base, especially on PlayStation consoles, in part to its release being included in December’s PlayStation Plus lineup.

Team17 is also known for its work on other indie titles, including the likes of Overcooked and The Escapists. It notably published Yooka-Laylee and its sequel, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, for Playtonic Games (which incidentally is also getting into publishing) as well. Are you excited to play Worms Rumble on Nintendo Switch?
