The latest edition of WRC is once again bringing a selection of classic rally cars to its roster. All of the classic vehicles on offer in WRC 9 have won the WRC’s drivers’ or manufacturers’ world titles at least once. Developer KT Racing has tried to focus on famous classics here, each bringing unique handling challenges to proceedings. The classic content has been shown off in a cool, scanline-effect trailer.
The legendary cars content amounts to 15 in-game vehicles. These date back to the ’70s, and this WRC 9 trailer moves through the years of classic rally, showing them off. KT Racing expects these particular cars to provide an extra challenge for players, as they “come from an era in which high-tech driving aids were not available.” The full list is as follows:
- Lancia Stratos
- Lancia Fulvia HF
- VW Polo WRC 2016
- Lancia 037
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS RGT (997)
- Ford Escort MkII 1800
- Alpine A110 1973
- Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione
- Citroën Xsara WRC 2005
- Ford Focus 2007
- Toyota Corolla 1999
- Audi Quattro A2 1984
- Citroen C3 WRC 2019
- Proton Iriz R5
WRC 9 launches next month on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch and next-gen versions unfortunately don’t have solid release dates just yet. WRC 8 turned out a solid Switch version though, so we’re hopeful KT Racing can repeat the feat in the near future.
