Watching a bunch of dudes do construction work isn’t typically considered high entertainment. So the excitement of watching Super Nintendo World come to life at Universal Studios Japan in photos has to be a big win for the construction worker community. And now the most exciting part of the construction yet has been erected: Yoshi! He’s standing on a bunch of wobbly stacked Goombas. We love it!

Thanks are due to Japanese Nintendo for bringing this photo of Yoshi and Goombas to western attention.
We’ve been following the development of Super Nintendo World at various Universal Studios parks since it was first announced. The first version of the park to open will of course be the Universal Studios Japan location, intended to open in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Reportedly, the park will open with two rides: Super Mario Kart Ride and Yoshi’s Adventures, and Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle are expected to show up as well. Park attendees will reportedly wear magnetic wristbands that record scores earned from playing various games throughout the park. An alleged concept model for the park leaked back in July.
What is your hype level for Super Nintendo World at this point? You can bet there are plenty more cool statues where Yoshi and the Goombas came from.
