French retailer WT&T has created a listing for a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 collector’s edition, in addition to a standard edition. If legitimate, this could indicate that the game will receive the equivalent of a Special Edition or Master Edition, like the first game did on Nintendo Switch. Below is a screenshot of the listing.
It’s understandable to be skeptical about this listing, but WT&T did leak the existence of The Witcher 3 on Switch half a year before it was revealed. This The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 collector’s edition listing is priced at €82.85, which is roughly $98.94 based on today’s exchange rate. The standard edition version of the game is listed at €69.99, which also seems expensive for a standard edition, but it could be just a placeholder.
This isn’t the only potential retail mishap regarding the Zelda franchise though. A couple of days ago Amazon UK listed The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch before eventually taking it down. The fact that two Switch listings for Zelda games have appeared online in close proximity is interesting. It may indicate that Nintendo is gearing up to do something for the 35th anniversary next year. We probably won’t know what that is until next year though.
