The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild presented an enormous open-world landscape that, while beautiful, was ultimately a land in ruins. Prequel Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has shown us a land at the height of its greatness, including a massive and pristine Hyrule Castle. Now, modder banan039 has made a mission out of modding Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild to look as it did in Age of Calamity, and the results seem pretty awesome as expected. It’s not an absolutely perfect conversion, with some omissions here and there, but what’s there is great fun to explore. Even a few NPCs like the king himself are tossed in, though you won’t be having any in-depth conversations with them. (The guards will apparently push you though. Nice!)
Next on the modding agenda is rebuilding Hyrule Town. But in the interim, banan039 will release this Hyrule Castle mod for Breath of the Wild to Patreon subscribers on Dec. 7, followed by a public release on Dec. 12. Let us know what you think of it.
This is only the latest of many cool The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild mods we’ve seen over time, including mods to replace Link with Samus or Luigi, add Luigi’s Circuit from Mario Kart Wii, or replace all the enemies with Golden Lynels.
