Zelda fan film the blood moon old man Link

The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo’s most beloved video game properties. Many fans feel it’s ripe for a movie, or perhaps a TV show, as long as you can get around the whole silent protagonist thing. There have been rumors over the years, but nothing ever materialized. In the absence of anything official, fans have made their own Zelda short films in the past, and today we have a new one from writer/director Zane O’Gwin. Although it’s based on the world of Breath of the Wild, The Blood Moon revolves around the idea of Link as an old man.

Zelda fan film: The Blood Moon

If old man Link isn’t exactly what you signed up for, have no fear. A young version of Link makes an appearance too, as the old man reminisces about a dark day in his past. The day he lost Zelda. The day of the Blood Moon. 60 years after the Princess vanished during a dark ritual, Link seeks his revenge.

Overall, I’d say The Blood Moon is a pretty decent effort for a Zelda fan film. It’s clear they put a lot of effort into the fights in particular. I’m not quite sure what to make of the plot, but it’s something original. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
