Metroid fans have some new things to look forward to with today’s official Smash Bros. update. With the Japanese release of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS less than a month away, each update is more tense and exciting than the last. Released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, Metroid: Zero Mission re-imagined Samus\’ original mission to Zebes with updated graphics, new story and gameplay elements, and much more. Like Metroid games before it, Zero Mission features exclusive art revealed depending on your collection rate and clear time. Many of these shots include Samus in futuristic areas and landscapes in these outfits.

Not only do the Zero Mission costumes look great on 3DS, but Sakurai also took the opportunity to reveal a returning stage, too. Brinstar, now in its third Smash game since its Melee debut and return in Brawl, will be playable on Smash 3DS with all of its glorious lava and weird, fleshy bits in tow.
